Ireland will deliver emergency shelter and food assistance to Gaza next week, according to Deputy Irish Premier Simon Harris. The announcement came ahead of his scheduled meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.

The high-level meeting will address several critical issues, including the current fragile ceasefire in Gaza, the ongoing hostage situation, and urgent humanitarian needs. Additionally, discussions will focus on 'the reconstruction, governance and security of Gaza.'

I know the world is relieved to see the fragile ceasefire holding. It is essential everyone works tirelessly to ensure the ceasefire remains in place and is fully adhered to by all, Harris stated.

The Tánaiste emphasized the importance of preparing for Gaza's reconstruction and highlighted the international community's role in securing a future that ensures safety for both Israeli and Palestinian people, supporting the advancement of a two-state solution.

As part of his diplomatic engagements at the Munich Security Conference, Harris will participate in eleven bilateral meetings, including talks with Ukrainian foreign affairs minister Andrii Sybiha to reaffirm Ireland's support for Ukraine.
